our stay at ace inn matsumoto was even better than our previous visit. the hotel's cleanliness impressed us, and the staff went above and beyond by allowing us to store our bags after checkout. we loved the small library room with a great selection of free manga to borrow.
Bathroom smell issue failed to be addressed.

The hotel is located directly at the Matsumoto jr station, just out of the main exit to your right. Excellent if you arrive late from hiking in the nearby mountains. The reception staff was helpful. We had a semi double room which was small but comfy. The beds gave us a good night of sleep. I was surprised by the breakfast next morning, plenty of different choices, as egg salad, canned fruits, pastry or Japanese style with fish, rice and miso-soup. Coffee, tea and juices as much as you like. Best: breakfast was included in the room price. All in all: Very convenient. A good choice for weary hikers on a tight budget.
It is a plain and simple Japanese busyness hotel. If you are looking for something charming, you might be better off with one of the many guesthouses or ryokan places in town.

The hotel provides complimentary access to a beautiful onsen at another hotel, Hotel Shuhou. Just need to take a 15 minute public bus ride at your own expense.

Located just steps away from the train station and opposite the bus terminus, this hotel is perfect for travelers with families who are keen on exploring the area. Guests can easily access many restaurants, cafes, and shops in and around the hotel. Comfy rooms and friendly staff make the experience even more pleasant.
The breakfast provided at the hotel could be improved with more breakfast options for western tourists.

I recently stayed at Ace Inn for three nights while exploring the beautiful city. The location couldn't have been better, right across from the highway bus terminal and next to the train station. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist me, even providing a power adaptor when I forgot mine. My room on the 11th floor offered breathtaking views of the city and mountains. The spacious room was a pleasant surprise, as was the free satnav device. The buffet breakfast had plenty of options and the memory foam pillows made for a comfortable sleep. A highlight was the complimentary use of an onsen in the countryside, with a free shuttle and stunning views of the Japan Alps.
100% Recommend this hotel.

The location was perfect for our romantic getaway. We were close to all the main transport links which made it easy to get around. the hotel also offered a complimentary breakfast which gave us a great start to our day. We were pleasantly surprised to find USB chargers in the room, which made charging our devices easy.
Sadly, the room was smaller than we expected and the bed was very hard. We found it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

The location was on point, right in the heart of downtown. We could easily walk to all the dope shops, restaurants, and sights. The staff was chill and helpful, and we even did a quick laundry sesh. Plus, the hot springs nearby were the bomb!
The only thing we would've asked for is a sick party scene at the hotel. It was a bit too quiet for our wild crew.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to travel around. It was a relief not having to drag my bags through the streets. The town itself is very clean and worth exploring. One advantage I enjoyed was the helpfulness of the staff. They were always ready to assist and provide information.
The room was quite small, which is to be expected in Japan, but it was functional. However, the smoking room had a strong smell, which was a bit unpleasant.

The location was straight fire, just a hop and a skip away from the train station. We hit up the hot springs nearby and got our relaxation on, it was mad chill. The room was hella clean and the free breakfast buffet was a total game-changer. So much food, we stuffed ourselves silly. Best part? We had a sick time exploring the area with our crew of party-going friends.
If there's one thing we would've asked for, it would be more happening spots for young people to hang out. Don't get us wrong, we had a blast during our stay, but we wished there were more options for late-night fun.

I had a great Xmas experience at this hotel. The breakfast was unexpectedly included in the price and it was very good. I especially liked the baked goods and fruit selection. The hotel's location was perfect, right next to the train and bus stations, which made it very easy to do day trips and explore the city. The staff was friendly and made me feel very welcomed.
The room was a bit small and could use a more modern decor. The bed was uncomfortable, very hard, and small.
